NWC Chairman Calls For Water Harvesting Legislation

Chairman of the National Water Commission, NWC, Aubyn Hill, is calling for legislation to force developers to prioritize water harvesting.

He made the call while addressing the Generation 2000″ G2K Water Forum last evening.

He also says the NWC is operating in serious debt.

Hill, who’s also a government Senator, says years of poor decisions have contributed to that debt.

He says that is why the government is moving to privatize the entity.

Senator Hill is calling on Jamaicans to invest in the NWC when it’s open to private investment.

G2K President Stephen Edwards, says Jamaica must accommodate a paradigm shift in how we treat water, if we are to survive as a small island.

He says every government ministry, each individual and business must prioritize climate change.
